Kemenkes Sebut Ada 5 Provinsi Telah Bebas Malaria, Banten?

Bantentoday – Direktur Jenderal Pencegahan dan Pengendalian Penyakit  Kementerian Kesehatan (Kemenkes) RI Maxi Rein Rondonuwu, menyebutkan sudah ada 5 provinsi di Indonesia telah bebas dari malaria yakni DKI Jakarta, Bali, Banten, Jawa Timur dan Jawa Barat.

“Kami berharap seluruh stakeholders, terutama leadership para bupati dan wali kota serta gubernur untuk menggerakkan semua potensi dan lintas sektor untuk menciptakan daerah eleminasi malaria,” katanya, Kamis (15/6).

Katanya, secara umum penyebaran penyakit malaria di Indonesia masih tinggi, khususnya di wilayah timur. Sebanyak 80% kasus kejadian luar biasa (KLB) malaria disumbangkan dari provinsi-provinsi di wilayah timur.

Pemerintah Pusat berkomitmen untuk menurunkan penyebaran penyakit malaria, hal ini sejalan dengan komitmen global (SDGs) bahwa semua negara harus bebas dari penyakit yang disebabkan gigitan nyamuk anopheles betina itu atau target Eleminasi Malaria 2030.

“Nah kita di Indonesia bagaimana?. Saya bilang jangan menunggu 2030, dan kami apresiasi betul Kalimantan Timur komitmen eleminasi tahun 2026. Ini semangat yang luar biasa dan sangat rasional, sebab tinggal empat kabupaten,” kata Maxi Rein Rondonuwu.
